Our Mission
At Cult Hero Sports, we have a goal. We want to open the eyes of those who visit this site to the vast talents of the sporting world. We want those who do not know about who we shed light on to learn about them. We want those who do know to remember them. We want other people to be able to experience what we experienced by watching these athletes.
Our History
Established in March 2017 by James Roulston Mooney, Cult Hero Sports was originally a weekly local newspaper column in Salford, Manchester. The pieces written for the columns were dedicated to the sports stars of yesteryear that deserve plaudits today. A concentrated and dedicated following grew over time and the popularity of the column became so high that James launched a business of the same name using a new website where enthusiastic writers inform the world of the cult heroes in sport that were left behind.
